North Swindon Big Band has a rich musical heritage and enjoys a proud reputation as a popular and much sought after band in Wiltshire and the surrounding counties.

Established in 1993 as the U3A Dance Orchestra, the band relaunched in 2017 as NSBB, reviving the spirit, style and sound of music from the 30s and 40s - the golden age of the big bands.  Karen Cordon, the current Musical Director, was appointed in 2022.

NSBB takes the form of a traditional Big Band and comprises an accomplished 20 piece line-up including Saxophones, Trumpets and Trombones, supported by a 4 piece rhythm section; plus the captivating vocals of both male and female singers.

Programmes are carefully tailored for specific events but will inevitably feature music from the likes of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, plus vocal numbers made popular by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.

If you are planning a private party, a corporate function or a charity event, NSBB can offer an exciting programme of music to listen to, as well as our extensive dance repertoire, which is guaranteed to get your toes tapping.

North Swindon Big Band provides a feast for lovers of jazz and swing music but whatever your musical taste, a performance from NSBB is certain to be enjoyed by all!
